Cranfield Water Science Institute is one of the largest groups of water research expertise in the UK, covering all aspects of water from raindrop to tap. It runs the largest MSc water programme in the UK. One of the most successful component MSc courses is on Community Water and Sanitation, and focuses on training for those who have worked or will work in the developing world on water related issues. The course therefore addresses both the need for students with some experience looking to improve skill sets and for those aspiring to work in developing world water.
The course is highly focussed on the job market, including real world experience through sponsored group and thesis projects with a range of organisations and agencies. Graduates are now working in most relevant organisations across the globe and we have a vibrant alumni network, many of whom still contribute to the course.
We are looking for someone with extensive overseas experience to add to the real world nature of the Community Water & Sanitation MSc course.
We have a particular need for input and leadership in relation to teaching of water and sanitation in emergency/disaster relief situations. An important component of our courses is the industry focused Group and thesis projects and we would want you to engage with these through identifying sponsors/projects and supervising students.
Opportunities exist to contribute to teaching in other areas of the course, particularly in relation to social science/qualitative methods and practical experience of water, sanitation and hygiene.
